Isa T. - Waking Up Early

Before I started CrossFit, I had never worked out in the morning before. I started as a member of a globo gym. I "tried" to go at lunch time or after work but it barely happened. Once I was committed to CrossFit, I just had to make time in my life to fit that in. Being a morning person, mornings was the most obvious choice.

Unless I am due for a rest day or have a super early meeting at work, I make it to the gym. My wife gets pissed at me if I let the alarm go longer than 2 seconds. So, I built this subconscious feeling where I find myself awake before the alarm.

Unlike many people, I do not need much sleep. Even if I try, I can't sleep more than 7-8 hours. Having said that I make sure that I am in bed by 10pm, so that I am up by 4:35 the next morning. Just like practicing squat snatch: it does get easier!

Working out in the mornings make me feel accomplished. I feel like something is missing in the days I can't make it to the gym. Let's call it the 5:30 Spirit!
